For over 30 years, Sheila Rich’s flair for optimal space planning, exquisite color and pattern schemes, and true appreciation of gracious style are beautifully reflected in the timeless interiors she creates. From concept to conception, Sheila works with her commercial and residential clients to ensure that every detail of their home or office elegantly expresses and supports their individual lifestyle, tastes, and needs.
Sheila is part of an elite group of interior designers who have become Certified Interior Designers by the State of New Jersey. Her diversified professional experience, extensive body of work, and educational background also contributed to qualify her for this esteemed title. She is a graduate of Hunter College of the City of New York and has successfully completed design courses at the prestigious Parsons School of Design, American Institute of Kitchen and Bath Dealers, Brookdale College, and The New School. Her credits include affiliations with both the International Interior Design Association as well as the American Society of Interior Designers. Sheila holds a position as a member of the board directors of the NJ Chapter of ASID.
While Sheila Rich Interiors, LLC, has been serving the New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia areas since 1979, Sheila has been personally called in to work on both commercial and residential projects throughout the United States and Canada. Her diversified commercial projects range from a 30,000 square foot retail space, large executive office spaces, and residential high-rise lobbies and common areas.
As an advocate for her clients involved in new home construction, she works as a team with architects and builders to be sure the home is built with her clients’ needs and best interests in mind. By creating design concepts in advance of the builder’s selection process – which can be very stressful, confusing, and time consuming for new home owners – costly errors are avoided.
Sheila’s monthly newspaper column, “Rich Ideas”, serves to educate homeowners on the many and varied aspects of interior design as well as how to use all levels of design principles to achieve the home of their dreams. Check out Sheila’s Blog page for lots of “insider” tips on optimizing your home to suit your lifestyle.
Examples of Sheila’s showhouse interiors are featured in the book “Showhouses 1, A Decorators’ Tour”; her work has also been published in many national, regional, and local magazines and newspapers, many of which can be seen on the Press page. As a featured guest speaker, Sheila’s popular presentation on Space Solutions for home, apartment, and condo owners in all phases of life is extremely well received by audiences.
